393 Macaulay Rd is our first project to be delivered via Assemble Futures. Located just three kilometres north-west of Melbourne’s CBD in Kensington, 393 Macaulay Road was designed by Fieldwork, and comprises of 73 apartments. This project is currently under construction with residents due to move mid 2022.

AVAILABILITY

Due to changes with some of our residents’ circumstances we now have a limited number apartments available at 393 Macaulay Rd.  Construction is in the final stages, with move in expected in mid 2022.

DESIGN

393 Macaulay Rd includes a mixture of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments. At the heart of our design is a landscaped, open-air walkway that will bring cross-flow ventilation and dual aspect natural light to our residents’ homes. The entire community will be connected through communal spaces on the upper and ground floors: places for work, eating and leisure, together.

 

The design will retain and restore the façade of the original heritage building, designed by Art Deco architect Harry A. Norris (also the mastermind behind the iconic Curtain House, Mitchell House, Burnham Beeches and Nicholas Building).

LOCATION

393 Macaulay Rd is located among the wide, tree-lined streets of Kensington, within the industrial fabric of the area. Our site sits between two of Melbourne’s significant waterways with the Moonee Ponds Creek to the east and Maribyrnong River to the west. A century ago, the streets were occupied by drovers, cattle, sheep, wool stores and flour mills. Today, many of these historic warehouses are home to artist studios, workshops and breweries – intermixed with Victorian cottages that skirt the surrounding streets.

 

ASSEMBLE FUTURES

Assemble Futures offers a more accessible pathway to owning a home, that bridges the gap between renting and buying. We'll support you to into home ownership by enabling you to move in and rent your apartment for five years, while you save to buy it. Protecting you from shifts in the property market.

 

As part of the Assemble Futures program, we provide all residents with free financial coaching and support, from the time you sign your lease and throughout the rental period. Our dedicated financial coach is here to help you improve financial literacy and wellbeing and set you on the path to owning your home.
